Hey folks! We are hitting the halfway mark of the Summer of Math Exposition 2! There are roughly 5 weeks left until the deadline of August 15th. A few quick notes:
The prize pool has increased to ~$15,000. We are currently speaking to additional sponsors, so the prize pool might increase further in the near future. Instead of providing a bigger prize to the top 5 winners, we have decided to select more winners in total, where each one will receive $1000.
There are about 175 people still looking for collaborators on github. If you are still trying to think of something to do, please browse the available topics and comment on any of them that seem interesting!
For those who might have misplaced the link, here is the submission form.
As a gentle reminder: manim is free to use for almost any purpose, but pi creatures are not. This competition is about inspiring more people to make math content, not about creating more 3blue1browns. It's really important to develop your own visual style that is unique to you!
Even though SoME2 is halfway done, there are still 5 weeks left! That's plenty of time to start and finish an amazing piece of math exposition! Take your time and really focus on making your content as interesting as possible!
As always, we are really looking forward to seeing what everyone makes!
